I have been a professional photographer for over thirty years, but my passion for taking photos goes back even further. I love photographing anything from people, places and sport through to close up and still life.
In the old days, developing film and printing my own photos for exhibition and competitions really helped me to focus on quality while taking on board the advice of judges and my peers to try and achieve the perfect picture.
As one of the first in the country to own a Canon digital SLR and indeed write a number of technical reviews on it I found the transition from film to digital very exciting and I still enjoy spending time testing ideas and learning how to get the very best out of both camera equipment and the software.
I have also spent many hours at lectures keeping up to date with both the latest trends in picture taking and the many options for picture presentation. I have also given many lectures of my own when I was regional chairman of the Master Photographers Association.
I am very lucky to have a small farm near Romsey in Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest where I have lived all my life. It makes the perfect location for portraits of families, children, pets and model portfolios. It has proved to be so popular that people have travelled hundreds of miles from all parts of England, Wales and even Scotland for photo sessions.
Over the years I have met some amazing people and have travelled to fantastic places around the world for photo shoots which is why I still love my work so much. I love meeting people and making new friends and it shows in the pictures where people enjoy the shoots and feel relaxed.
